Burning Shadows

They ate at my table,
They took the same train,
shared the fun and the laughter,
then even caused the pain

In the moments of sadness,
They gladly turn away
for new fun filled horizons
they generously betray

They will come – they will go,
Yet the sun will faithfully rise,
and however dark the night is,
It will brighten up the skies.

A True source of inspiration,
Showers beams of positive light,
burning out the dark shadows,
feeding the soul with might.

They can try their best to drown me
or drag my spirit to the ground
For just a moment I may falter
But they will never break me down.
